Izmir jest jedną z najbardziej popularnych wśród turystów miejscowości nadmorskich w Turcji. Znajduje się na zachodzie, u wybrzeży Morza Egejskiego. Ma dostęp do portu, ale jeśli chodzi o plaże i kurorty turystyczne znajdują się one dość daleko od centrum miasta (ku mojemu ubolewaniu, oczywiście). Jest tam kilka miejsc do zobaczenia, ale niezaprzeczalną wizytówką miasta jest Wieża Zegarowa w samym sercu miasta. Nie miałam wystarczająco czasu na głębsze poznanie Izmiru, ale zrobił na mnie bardzo dobre wrażenie, biorąc pod uwagę moją niechęć do miejsc stricte turystycznych :) |

Izmir is one of the most popular among tourists seaside cities in Turkey. It's located in the West, on the coast of the Aegean Sea. It's a port city, but when it comes to beaches and touristic resorts they are placed quite afar off the centre (to my regret, obviously). There are some sites worth seeing but the Clock Tower is an indisputable signature of the city. I didn't have enough time for deeper exploration of Izmir, but it left a good impression, especially considering my reluctance towards purely touristic places :)

Żeby podziwiać takie widoki trzeba skorzystać z windy. Miejsce raczej niewskazane dla osób z lękiem wysokości. | To enjoy this view one needs to use an elevator. This place is rather not recommended for people with the fear of heights.
